Surviving Job Loss in a Pandemic (Podcast)

Last month we had the opportunity to help out one of our clients who lost her job as a result of the global pandemic.

Cindy’s work ended on June 30 – something she told us in her regular review – and so we were able to have a very timely conversation about a range of financial matters she needed to consider.

Then, armed with some information from Bridge Private Wealth and other experts, Cindy decided to create a podcast called the Joining the Job Queue.

Her aim is to share the information and inspiration she gains from various experts and other job-hunters with others who find themselves out of work due to the pandemic and resulting recession. As her occupation is all things communication, it’s one way to get noticed in a crowded job market!

We were more than happy to offer up our Director Joel Xuereb, who is Cindy’s long term adviser, as a guest on the show to run through matters including housing costs, government benefits, superannuation, cash flow and more.

Along the way Joel reveals what got him into financial advising in the first place and provides some tips on how he stays focused and organised during pandemic disruption and working from home.

Please feel free to share the series with anyone in your network who is out of work or who has had reduced work hours.

The podcast is available on Apple, Spotify, Google and a number of other platforms. Links below.
